About The Somatica Institute
In 2010, Danielle Harel, PhD, and Celeste Hirschman, MA, co-founded the Somatica Institute with a shared desire to fill the world with love, pleasure, and deeply satisfying relationships by training and certifying experiential sex and relationship coaches.
The Somatica Institute has since empowered hundreds of aspiring sex coaches, spanning the Americas, Europe, Africa, Australia, and Asia. Our alumni have gone on to achieve fulfilling careers as sex and relationship coaches, authors, podcasters, TV and film intimacy coordinators, and thought leaders.
Our mission is to help people have the most love, secure attachment, sexual pleasure, emotional intimacy, and self-awareness while experiencing as little pain and trauma as possible.
The Somatica Institute is a global leader in sex and relationship coach training. We are dedicated to teaching and developing the next generation of cutting-edge, successful coaches.
The Philosophy Behind Our Mission
The most important predictor of happiness in life is having positive connections with the people we love – including our family, partners, children, friends, and community.
Because the need for loving relationships is a critical part of what it means to be human, we experience some of our highest highs and lowest lows through intimacy. Even those who prioritize professional success seek love and acknowledgment from the most important people in their lives.
By sharing the Somatica philosophy through our certification training, we aim to fill the world with people who understand how to bring themselves and others more joy, passion, and connection.
How Can You Be a Part of this Mission?
If you feel a calling to help yourself and others heal and grow in their sexual lives and relationships, you’ve come to the right place.
The best way to bring more pleasure to the world is by learning and living the Somatica philosophy – and practicing and teaching its tools to help your clients transform unhelpful habits, uncover their true selves, and unlock deeper intimacy.
Somatica not only prepares you to be a masterful coach — it invites you into a loving community of like-minded people committed to growth, mutual support, and creating a more compassionate world through better sex and relationships.
We all share the same basic desires to love and be loved, and feel the full force of our own passion, pleasure, and aliveness.
Emma, Somatica Graduate
“I just wanted to say thank you, thank you, thank you – and I love you.
I’m feeling called to share something with you: When I first started Somatica I had a job that was running me into the absolute ground. I was in a relationship that was destroying me. I could honestly barely stand my life.
In this moment right now, I’m sitting in the most beautiful place I’ve ever been in Joshua Tree. It is the morning of my first retreat (which sold out in 12 hours). My editors for the magazine I’m writing a sex column with LOVED my final changes to this week’s piece. All my clients are reaching out sending their love and wishing me luck.
I just can’t believe this is my life. Selfishly, I can’t believe I have this freedom. I can’t believe I’m financially making more than I ever made in my corporate jobs in just a little over a year of starting my practice. I can’t believe I get to travel whenever I want. What a privilege.
But more than that, I can’t believe I get to do the work I do. I can’t believe I get to share these tools with people this way. Everyday I get to experience intimacy, and see the parts people hide away of themselves.
Thank you for changing my life. Thank you for empowering me— you could have so easily taken advantage of me when I came to you so vulnerable & desperate to change the condition I was in. But instead, you introduced me to myself: a woman capable of more than I ever gave her credit for. My inner child cannot believe this is who we grew up to be.”
